Artful Journaling Part 3.3: Even More Embellishments

Hello! Today I’m finishing the embellishments in the A5 art journal I’m making for a friend. This is the fifth video in a series and involves me using a variety of media (quotes, stickers, tipins, acetates, washi, pens etc) to decorate the pages. After this, there will be a final ‘finishing touches’ video in which I also create a cover. If you have any questions or suggestions please leave them in the comments, and I’ll get back to you. Thanks for watching!

Artful Journaling Part 3.2: More Embellishments

Hello! Today I’m continuing to embellish the backgrounds in the A5 art journal I’m making for a friend. This is the fourth video in a miniseries and involves me using a variety of media (quotes, stickers, tipins, acetates, washi, pens etc) to decorate the pages. There will be one more embellishment video after this and then a final ‘finishing touches’ video in which I also create a cover. If you have any questions or suggestions please leave them in the comments, and I’ll get back to you. Thanks for watching!

Artful Journaling Backgrounds Part 3.1: Embellishments

Hello! Today I’m embellishing the backgrounds in the A5 art journal I’m making for a friend. This is the third video in a miniseries and involves me using a variety of media (quotes, stickers, tipins, acetates, washi, pens etc) to decorate the pages. There will be a couple more embellishment videos after this and possibly a ‘finishing touches’ video too. If you have any questions or suggestions please leave them in the comments, and I’ll get back to you. Thanks for watching!

Artful Journaling Backgrounds Part 2: Not Watercolour

Hello! Today I’m making more backgrounds in my A5 sketchbook in preparation for some journaling. This is the second of three videos and involves me using a variety of media (inks, watercolour pastels, gesso, distress inks etc). Part Three will show how I embellish the pages and finish everything off with washi and whatnot. If you have any questions or suggestions please leave them in the comments, and I’ll get back to you. Thanks for watching!

Long Story Short …

I’m back … again.

It’s been a heck of a year.

Long story short: I’ve had severe depression and anxiety, and, at the start of this year, I spent nearly six weeks in hospital because of it. I’m a lot better now, thank goodness, and that’s partly due to our wonderful National Health Service, partly due to all the support I’ve received from my awesome friends and family and partly due to me doing a lot of bloody hard work.

I almost deleted this blog, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it – I’ve put a lot of work into it, and looking back over it is like looking at a map of all the journeys I’ve been on over the last few years – so I’ve decided to keep it and use it to talk about my recent experience of mental illness and my current journey of recovery … plus whatever else pops into my head. I might post some of the arty crafty stuff I’ve been working on, and I might even try writing some stories again. Who knows?!

I’ve been posting on Instagram for a while. You can find me there as @crafting.out.loud if you’d like to see what I’ve been up to. I’ve also put a few videos on YouTube. You can find me on Facebook too.

Catch you soon!

Love Natalie x
